Refer to your state’s guidance COVID-19 vaccine dissemination plan• Iowa https://idph.iowa.gov/Emerging-Health-Issues/Novel-Coronavirus/Vaccine• Illinois http://www.dph.illinois.gov/covid19/vaccination-plan• Colorado https://covid19.colorado.gov/covid-19-vaccine-development-and-planning• Oklahoma https://oklahoma.gov/covid19/vaccine-information.html
Kate LaFollette
01:07:58
What is your strategy to disseminate the COVID-19 vaccine in your organization and promote to those who are hesitant about vaccines?
Natalie Fields
01:09:24
We're doing a mass mailing ahead of time, from our medical director, to residents and POAs/family members. It explains how the vaccines were tested, and that our medical director feels they are safe. And gives more resources to them.
Stacey Cremeens-Windmill Manor
01:10:21
We are doing staff huddles to try to educate. Our younger staff is worried about side effects with reproductive system. Do you have any insight to combat against that?

One more thing - I heard on an NHSN call today that they are looking to add COVID-19 vaccination reporting to NHSN.
Jane Brock
01:15:58
The vaccine has not been tested in pregnant or breastfeeding women, or women 'planning to beome pregnant' unfortunately. Most experts have said things along the line of 'we have no reason to believe that there would be problems' with those groups, but they have been excluded from testing so far. Women of reproductive age who are not in one of these groups (pregnant, breastfeeding, actively pursuing pregnancy) have been well prepresented in testing and should not be concerned.
wendy waterbury
01:16:37
Would suggest they reach out to their providers to share their fears and get their provider's recommendations for how to combat those potential side effects

people with a history of anaphylaxis - certainly to a vaccine, but also to foods or medicines - should not yet receive the COVID vaccine, unless directed to do so, and under the care of a physician qualified to make recommendations. These people (hx of allergic rxn to vaccines) were also excluded from these first rounds of trials, and then 2 HCWs in the UK who had a hx of allergic reactions did indeed react to the COVID vaccine
