Hello from Sophia and Blanca from the Activities Department from Spanish Peaks Veterans Community Living Center
Love the hat Meredith!!! You truly embrace the holiday spirit!
@Meredith - you already mentioned this earlier, but what a norm around being on web camera if at all possible?
The ability to chat in smaller groups or break out sessions
The ability to ask questions and share most FAQ
I agree, thank you Nancy!
@All - what have you observed about social isolation in your community?
That's so awesome and heartwarming!
I hope the hug tunnel idea spreads everywhere!
elegantly simple and genius at the same time
I don’t see annotate
None of that on this platform for me- Denver
@All - chat in a quick hello to anyone you recognize on the call today!
doesn’t work on my phone. from Fort Collins
here from Boulder Co
@Pat and Kerry - thanks for sharing in chat where you're joining us from!
Love all the rural folks on here!!!
Hello everyone :)
Hello Irina - so happy you could join us!
@Danelle - thank you!
So welcome! :)
who is in Mesa County?
Access the Portal here: https://portal.telligenqinqio.com/rdc/
@Deb - hopefully this quick portal demo helped explain how you can find others in Mesa County and your community!
@All - what stands out most to you in this data?
heck a lot of red levels
It is widespread
areas with higher populations
Areas are in goupsFrequesntl
Red is along major roads travelled
I 25 corridor like deidre said
Yes, I use this website and check at minimum weekly
Is anyone on here from Hinsdale county?
@All - questions to consider: Is this the COVID dashboard you rely on for CO COVID data? If you are using other sources for COVID maps, which site(s) are you using? How frequently do you look at this data?
Monitor this dashboard for testing, look and CEDRS when needed, and monitoring a covid map since we are extremely close to 3 other states that our employees travel to.
A lot of rural communities are now in red level. Our rural area is in red I believe due to people refusing to wear masks. Same other places?
mainly county site
two to three times a week
I have to review the Dashboard daily.
Looking at the Counties around us daily plus what information we get from our public health of our county.
Daily, we get great updates from Kim Gonzales
Frontier/Rural Masks non-compliance
we are challenged for consistency best practices in and out of our industries
There are also many in our area who do not wear masks in public places
Definitely see surge after Thanksgiving because of that view every other day
Daily, but information is not always up-to-date. Mostly rely on our public health updates.
Families spreading to one another
Our community does not wear mask when out except are health care workers
Staff support for increased anxiety
Thank you, this is important to us!
Feel free to share your current work or challenges related to the areas you chose in chat!
Staffing is difficult especially in a rural area when many are getting sick
Social Isolation of persons living with dementia and their caregivers especially those living in residential communities
Vaccination fears, many are unsure of the vaccine due to it being new, most forget that all vaccines were new at one time and people had the same fears, think small pox
LTC will be mandatory, and if they have adverse effects to vaccine how will this effect job status
@Kaitlyn - yes..are you aware of the state resources for temporary staff that can be deployed out to the facilities?
With staffing issues there is always a concern to maintain great quality of care
A huge concern; The transition of residents back to our facilities; COVID FREE vs POSITIVE CASES.
The community has really stepped up with the holidays--caroling, bringing gifts, decorating outside in the yard
@Nancy, Michelle, and Pat - great points and you are not alone with these challenges.
I'm very pleased with how our caregivers have come together to make our resident's feel special and thinking outside the box such as decorating doors and more personalized one-on-one activities
@All - What partnerships have formed to help address social isolation your community? How are you helping to make the holiday season brighter this year? Any use cases to share about technology, telehealth, and/or televisits?
Community Outreach from organizations, friends and families have increased. Donations of gifts and virtual contact has been more prevalent.
contest between hallsino decorating their neighborhood
staff wearing Christmas themed attire to cheer residents up
A family came to Window Christmas Carol while we gathered the residents at the window.
Also forgot to mention the creation of a specialized webinar on COVID-19 and Dementia.
Projecting snow images in hallways
@Danelle - was your webinar recorded? If so, would you be willing to share the recording with the group?
This is an ongoing live webinar available to anyone in the community.
@Danelle - great! Could you share the webinar information for those who might be interested in joining?
